I haven't updated in a while

Hi, I'm Kenneth and I have a revelation:

I really like Sriracha hot sauce. It's a Thai chile sauce with amazing flavor and a reasonably intense amount of heat.

Yo, so what's up peeps? Who is even reading this thing? At least some, I hope. It's mid August right now. This is my favorite month of the year, especially the last half of it. Well, it isn't quite as great as it was in high school when I didn't start classes until September. Now, school starts RIGHT when my favorite time of the year is. I don't know why I like it so much, I just do.

I have been out of work and broke for about three months. Maybe I wasn't updating because I didn't want to just talk about that all the time. Who wants to read sob stories? But yeah it has really sucked. Why? Well, naturally being broke sucks to begin with. But the thing is when you don't have money, sometimes you can still do your favorite thing. Say bike riding is your favorite thing? Well good news, if you already have your bike, you can still do your favorite thing. Or maybe you love to read, well guess what, hop on the bus (or your bike) and head to the library, you can read for free!

My favorite thing is food. I spend entirely too much time researching recipes. I still have been able to do that so that's nice. Problem is I couldn't actually put my research into practice. Haven't been able to for months. It has eaten away at my soul! Don't think I haven't been eating. I have. You know those cans of condensed soup, and pinto beans, etc that are in the far reaches of the universe (well, your cabinets) that NEVER get eaten because you keep buying food and put it in front of it? Well, those got eaten this summer. And it wasn't much fun. The money I did have coming in was $50/week from donating plasma. So I was able to make food purchases but spending more than $5 for ingredients for one meal was not ok.

I've been smoking my pipe because I don't buy a lot of black and milds anymore. It's not as good for what I like to smoke but it's not bad. I have this huge bag of bulk tobacco that my friend gave me for Christmas so I haven't had to buy any. That's been good. The only thing that sucks is the damn pipe gives me heartburn and I can't STAND heartburn especially when I'm laying down and trying to sleep!!!

I moved from Southview at the beginning of the month after doing everything I could to get myself arrested or killed there. I got bored not working. I grew to HATE the guys that lived on the first floor and did some things that I will not say because if they found out who did it I would be in trouble. Don't worry, I didn't do anything really bad. So anyway, I had to move on July 31 and be OUT of Southview by 12PM. I was not allowed to move ANYTHING into the Mill until AFTER 12 PM. Guess what? That leaves a period of zero seconds that you can move stuff from one place to the other. That was an adventure. We worked it out but it was a horrible day.

The Mill is better than Southview. The only thing that Southview has on The Mill is that in Southview you have a bathroom and it's YOUR bathroom, it's in your room and everything. That was WONDERFUL. I'll admit, that is a pretty big thing. But besides that The Mill is better. I will list why.

  • I can walk to campus and work in under 15 minutes and not climb Mount Everest. From Southview it took about 30 minutes and I had to climb Mount Everest.
  • Ron is the manager here and he knows all of the tenants by name. There are nine buildings here and there are in theory 48 people in each one, assuming they are filled. That is a lot of people and Ron knows them all. He's not the nicest guy but he cares about the property and whatnot. In Southview, they looked at you like you are a fucking alien every time you went to the office for something. They would have no idea who you were or what building you lived in. They just wanted your $440 to live in a run down neighborhood.
  • NO MORE IDIOT FRAT BOY WANNABES standing next to their ridiculous looking cars, triple parked, thumping bass at 2AM, trying to talk the idiotic bleached blonde skanks from the second floor into sleeping with them! Bye bye! Good fucking riddance!
  • I live directly behind a seven eleven. That rules. OK, living right next to Food Lion was nice but guess what? I will be going to 7-11 a lot more.
  • The bus rides to campus will not be plagued with standstill traffic because there are a bunch of spoiled brats clogging Port Republic Road, driving to campus with NOBODY IN THEIR CARS but them because Daddy and Mommy gave them enough money for a parking pass. Who the fuck pays $200 to park somewhere two miles from where you live when the busses are FREE?! At JMU - nearly everyone. That is why this place is full of idiots. God I wish I could be in charge of this place.
  • This neighborhood really is a lot quieter. It's not a convent though. There are a lot of people from the JMU band that live in this neighborhood. They still like to have fun, but not like the people in Southview and Ashby think of "fun." (37 people crammed into an apartment with music so loud you can't hear the person next to you, a 10 minute wait to get a shitty cup of Natural Light from the keg, at least one freshman chick falling on people trying to get out the door so she can go puke, cops showing up, etc) In The Mill, the way I like to have fun is the rule and not the exception. Reasonably sized gatherings, hanging out with people you like and drinking beer (ok, still bad beer) and talking, watching the game or movies, maybe playing a little pong, and just unwinding!!! Holy shit! Imagine that! You can have fun WITHOUT Lil' Wayne cranked to ten and waiting an hour and a half for your turn to play pong!
  • I don't have a problem with beer pong, don't get me wrong. I think that it's a great game and when it is played it should be the FOCUS of the room.
  • The Mill has the Game Show Network. Southview does not.
  • The Mill does not have balconies. Instead they have insanely large common areas. You might say, "Wait a second Kenneth, isn't a balcony a good thing?" Yes, generally, but for me personally, the balcony at Southview is a place I got myself into a lot of trouble at. No longer having a balcony will help to prevent me going to prison.
  • The Mill allows pets. That means that Caesar will be at my house within a few weeks. That's going to be awesome. Caesar is a different cat than he used to be. Staying with mom, who didn't really like him, changed him. He went a year and a half without any interest or attention and having to watch his back for psycho slobbery dogs. I think he realized he liked attention. I like the new Caesar a lot but I haven't gotten over the weirdness yet.

Alright, I suppose I will wrap this entry up. I'm off this weekend (and every weekend) but Monday through Friday I will be working for JMU Dining Services at the Starbucks in Top Dog. It is run by Aramark. They are stingy so no freebies for my friends, sorry. Seriously. Right now, I am going to the training. The second week of the training begins Monday. I'm actually enjoying it.

Adios yall.
